Introducing WordToWeb

WordToWeb 2.5 is an add-in to Microsoft Word 7.0 or later which fully automates the conversion of Word documents to complete HTML publications. WordToWeb provides a wizard which makes it easy even for people with no knowledge of HTML to produce professional-quality web pages.

WordToWeb provides a variety of formatting options and includes a number of graphic elements which you can use in your publications. Whether you need to publish a one-page press release or a long technical manual on the web, WordToWeb is the fast, easy and automatic way to do it!

About This Manual

This manual gives you the information you need to install and start using WordToWeb and also provides a reference resource.

This introductory section provides an overview of WordToWeb features and common uses. Also included is on overview of Some Basic Terminology; we suggest you look this over—especially if you are not experienced with HTML authoring.

  • Getting Started covers installation and gives basic instructions for creating and opening projects.
  • The WordToWeb Wizard covers each of panels and dialog boxes which make up the main WordToWeb conversion wizard. You can use this section as a reference.
  • Publishing with WordToWeb gives general information about using WordToWeb and publishing your HTML files on your website or intranet.
  • Creating Microsoft HTML Help Publications covers Microsoft HTML Help, a new technology which lets you create HTML-based publications with advanced navigational features.
  • Using the Batch Converter and Extending WordToWeb covers the WordToWeb batch conversion utility which lets you easily convert multiple projects and also shows how you can extend WordToWeb with your own programs and scripts.

The source document for this manual is included with WordToWeb as an example. You can use one of the provided WordToWeb projects to convert this document to HTML format for use as an online reference resource. For detailed instructions, please see Translating the example projects and online manual in the Getting Started section.

Also included with WordToWeb is comprehensive online Help. You an access the online help by pressing the "Help" button in any WordToWeb wizard panel or dialog box.
